1.The Padel Moldova Tour circuit#

1.1What Padel Moldova Tour is#

  • Padel Moldova Tour is the national padel competition circuit. The circuit belongs to the National Padel Sports Federation of the Republic of Moldova (FPRM), which owns and administers it.
  • Through Padel Moldova Tour, the Federation organises, administers and monitors the padel competitions held under its authority, manages sports results and compiles the national rankings of players.
  • The platform is used and administered directly and exclusively by the Federation.

1.2Season and calendar#

  • Padel Moldova Tour is an annual circuit, held over the period 1 January – 31 December.
  • Most events are set in advance through the Federation’s Official Sports Calendar. Additional competitions may also be approved and added during the season.
  • Events may be modified, cancelled or deactivated by the Federation. Adding new events does not affect existing results, statistics and rankings, and the history of competitions already held is preserved.

1.3National tournaments and external results#

TypeWhat it meansPoints in the national ranking
National tournamentsCreated and fully administered on the platform by the Federation’s administrators: registrations, divisions, groups, draws, results.Yes, automatically, after validation, according to the category’s points table
External resultsCompetitions organised outside the country (the FIP circuit and others). They are not created as events on the platform.Yes, entered manually by the Federation

External results are described in 10.1.

1.4Disciplines: doubles and singles#

  • Doubles: competitions between pairs, in a 2 v 2 format.
  • Singles: individual competitions, in a 1 v 1 format, without forming pairs. In singles, the participant is the player, not the pair.
  • An event may have only doubles, only singles or both. Each discipline has its own divisions, entries, draws, results and points.
  • A player takes part in both disciplines with the same profile.

2.Tournament categories#

2.1The nine categories#

Each national tournament is assigned by the Federation to one of the official categories below. The category determines the tournament’s points table.

The columns follow the stage reached: place 1 (champion), place 2 (runner-up), place 3, semi-finals, quarter-finals, round of 16, round of 32, round of 64, round of 128 and the earlier rounds (10+ … 16+). On a phone, the table scrolls horizontally.

2.3How points are awarded#

  • Points are awarded automatically, after the results are validated, according to the points table of the tournament’s category.
  • Each player’s points are determined by the competitive stage reached: the group stage, the knockout stages, the quarter-finals, the semi-finals, the final or the final placings, where these are decided by classification matches.
  • In doubles, each player in the pair receives the points corresponding to the result obtained by the pair. In singles, the points are awarded directly to the player.
  • Validated points are automatically transferred to the national ranking of the division in which they were played.
  • The Federation may change the points tables when the regulations change. A new points table applies to future competitions and does not retroactively change points already validated, except where the Federation expressly authorises a recalculation.
Note: the points tables for singles are set separately by the Federation.

3.Points for shared positions#

3.1Eliminated at the same stage#

  • In group stages and in knockout stages where no classification matches are played, participants eliminated at the same competitive level share the positions corresponding to that stage.
  • The platform does not assign distinct final positions to participants who have not played placement matches.
  • Where the shared positions have different values in the points table, each participant receives the average of the points for those positions.
  • If classification matches are played, each participant receives the exact points for the place obtained.

Example · Semi-finals without a 3rd-place match

At the National Championship, the two losing semi-finalists share places 3–4 and each receives (1,500 + 1,300) / 2 = 1,400 points. If the 3rd-place match is played, the winner gets 1,500 and the loser 1,300.

4.Points expiry#

4.1The rolling 360-day system#

  • Padel Moldova Tour uses the rolling expiry system after 360 days.
  • Points are not removed according to the next edition of the tournament, nor at the end of the calendar year. Each points award expires according to the exact date on which it was obtained.
  • Date the points were obtained + 360 days = date the points expire.
  • Every day, the system identifies the points that have reached an age of 360 days and automatically removes them from the player’s total.
  • The rule applies in the same way to doubles points, singles points and points entered manually for external competitions.

Example · A player’s total

A player has 3,000 points, and 400 of them reach an age of 360 days. Those 400 points automatically leave the total, which becomes 2,600, unless other changes occur.

Points obtained on 10.08.2025 leave the ranking on 05.08.2026.

4.2The history remains#

  • The expiry of points does not delete the result from the player’s history.
  • The competition result and the points originally awarded remain visible in the history; only the contribution of the expired points to the current ranking disappears.

5.Rankings#

5.1One ranking for each division#

  • There is an independent National Ranking for each division.
  • Points obtained in a division count exclusively towards the ranking of that division.
  • A player may appear in several rankings at the same time, with different points totals and positions.
  • Each ranking shows the player’s position, name and total points accumulated in that division.
  • The National Ranking is administered, updated and published exclusively by the Federation.
Note: there is no unified national ranking. Adding up points from different divisions would give a misleading picture of actual sporting performance.

5.2Doubles and singles, separately#

  • Singles rankings are completely separate from doubles rankings. Singles points are not added to doubles points.
  • Within each discipline, the rankings are organised by the official divisions.
  • The player has a single account; history, results and rankings are shown separately for doubles and for singles.

5.3What counts towards the ranking#

  • Total points = points obtained in Padel Moldova Tour + eligible points obtained at external competitions.
  • The ranking is recalculated automatically after: the validation of a competition, the awarding of points, the manual entry of external points, an authorised correction of results and the expiry of points after 360 days.

6.Divisions#

6.1Doubles divisions#

Doubles divisions are played in pairs, in a 2 v 2 format.

GroupDivisions

Women’sWomen’s Singles 1, Women’s Singles 2, Women’s Singles 3
OpenOpen Singles 1, Open Singles 2, Open Singles 3

6.3Divisions within a tournament#

  • Each national tournament may include one or more divisions, chosen by the Federation when the event is created. The Federation decides how many and which divisions it opens for registration.
  • Each division is activated or deactivated independently, for each event.
  • The list of divisions is not final: the Federation may later introduce new divisions, by level, gender, age, playing format or other sporting needs, without affecting the competition history.

7.Registration, licence and waiting list#

7.1Account and profile approval#

  • You create your account on the platform yourself, using the sign-up form.
  • Creating an account does not mean automatic approval to take part in competitions. After sign-up, each profile is checked and approved by an administrator appointed by the Federation.
  • The main purpose of the check is to confirm that you hold a valid sports licence for the current competition year.
  • The administrator updates the status of the licence and of the account, including at the start of each competition year.
Account statusWhat it means
Awaiting approvalYou have signed up, but your profile has not yet been approved by the administrator.
Approved – active licenceThe administrator has checked and confirmed the validity of the sports licence.
Inactive licenceYou do not hold a valid licence for the current competition year.
Suspended or blockedYou are subject to administrative restrictions set by the Federation.

7.2Registering without an active licence#

  • Even while your account is awaiting approval, you can request registration for tournaments.
  • Until your active licence is confirmed, you cannot take a confirmed place on the list of admitted participants: your registration is automatically placed on the waiting list, with the message “No active licence”.
  • Once the administrator has validated the licence, the restriction is lifted and the registration can be considered for admission, depending on points, the places available and the other conditions of the competition.

7.3Waiting list#

  • For each division, the Federation sets the maximum number of pairs (in doubles) or participants (in singles) admitted.
  • Once the limit is reached, all additional registrations are automatically placed on the waiting list.
  • The registration list and the waiting list are ordered by the points in the division’s national rankings (see 8.1).
  • If an admitted pair or participant withdraws, the next one on the waiting list may take the place, in the established order and provided they meet the participation conditions.
  • Participants who do not meet the administrative conditions for participation remain on the waiting list regardless of their sporting points, until the situation is resolved.
Waiting list messageWhen it appears
No active licenceThe account is not approved or the licence is not valid for the current competition year.
Entry fee not paidThe fee is mandatory for confirmation and has not yet been paid.
Federation sanctionThe player has a Federation sanction that bars them from taking part.
  • The messages are visible in the registration records, so that the player and the administrator know why participation is not confirmed. The administrator applies and removes the restrictions according to each participant’s situation.
  • In doubles, if one of the two players does not meet the mandatory participation conditions, the whole pair remains on hold until the situation is resolved.

7.4Confirmation of participation#

Participation in the tournament is confirmed only if all the conditions below are met:

  • an approved user profile;
  • an active sports licence;
  • the entry fee paid, where it is mandatory;
  • no Federation sanction barring participation;
  • falling within the number of places available, in the established sporting order.

8.Order of pairs#

8.1Pair points#

  • The order of participants is determined by the national ranking of the division concerned.
  • In doubles: pair points = player 1’s points + player 2’s points, both from the ranking of the division in which they registered.
  • In singles: participant points = individual points from the division’s singles ranking.
  • The order is recalculated on the basis of these points.

Example · Two pairs in the same division

Pair A: 450 + 150 = 600 points. Pair B: 320 + 320 = 640 points. Pair B is placed ahead of pair A, on the registration list and on the waiting list.

8.2Placement in the competition#

  • The same points total is used to order registrations and to determine sporting positions in the competition.
  • The Federation places participants into groups and into the draw, automatically or manually. Where the drawing of lots uses ranking criteria or sporting coefficients, these are applied according to the competition regulations.

9.Fees and payments#

9.1Entry fee#

  • The entry fee is set by the Federation for each tournament and for each open division.
  • Divisions of the same tournament may have different fees. The fee may also be 0 lei, for divisions or events with free participation.
  • Fees are not set automatically according to the tournament category; the Federation decides their amount.
  • The fee for each division is displayed before the registration is confirmed.

9.2Payment methods#

MethodHow it works
CashYou pay the fee in cash. The administrator manually confirms receipt, and the payment status is updated on the platform.
Bank transferYou pay by bank transfer, using the bank details and instructions displayed by the Federation for the tournament. The administrator manually confirms receipt of the transfer.
Bank cardNot yet available. Integration of PayNet Moldova is planned; once implemented, card payments will be confirmed automatically.

9.3Payment records#

  • For each registration, a record is kept of: the division, the amount due, the payment method chosen, the payment status (paid or unpaid) and the administrator’s confirmation of payment.
  • If payment is mandatory to confirm participation and the fee has not been paid, the registration remains on the waiting list, with the message “Entry fee not paid”.
  • Once payment is confirmed, the restriction is lifted and the participant may be admitted if they also meet the other conditions.

10.External results#

10.1Competitions outside the country#

  • Players from the Republic of Moldova also take part in competitions organised outside the country: competitions on the FIP international circuit, official competitions in Romania, in Bulgaria, on other national circuits and other competitions recognised by the Federation.
  • The Federation awards national ranking points for these results, based on its own equivalence table.
  • External competitions are not published in the Padel Moldova Tour calendar and do not appear as tournaments organised by the Federation.

10.2Entering the points#

  • External points are entered manually by the operators appointed by the Federation’s Sports Department, who monitor the competitions.
  • For each result, the following are recorded: the name of the competition, the country, the date or period, the type of competition, the discipline (where applicable), the division, the player and the points awarded. Several players may be entered for one event.
  • Each player’s points are determined by the round reached and the Federation’s points table.
  • For FIP competitions, points are, as a rule, assigned to the Men’s 1 and Women’s 1 divisions. For competitions on other national circuits, the corresponding Padel Moldova Tour division is chosen, which may also be Men’s 2, Men’s 3 or another.
  • If the Federation recognises external singles results, they are recorded separately, in the singles rankings.
  • For external competitions, no groups, draws, opponents, scores or statistics are entered. The player’s profile shows the name of the competition and the points obtained.
  • External points go automatically into the national ranking and, like all the others, expire after 360 days.

Example · FIP Silver Budapest

The operator creates the external event “FIP Silver Budapest” and enters the two Moldovan players, each with the points corresponding to the round reached, in Men’s 1.

11.Organisation#

11.1The Federation organises#

  • The sporting administration of the circuit on the platform is carried out exclusively by the Federation, through its Sports Department. The Federation is the only entity that creates, administers, validates and closes competitions.
  • Administrative rights are granted individually to persons appointed by the Federation, which may activate, modify or withdraw them.
  • The authorised persons are mainly certified Federation referees, trained to use the platform. They may be delegated as chief referees or tournament directors; a chief referee may be given access only to the competitions to which they are assigned.
  • The same principle applies to Americano events, leagues and the other formats: they are created and administered exclusively by the Federation’s Sports Department.

11.2Competition format#

  • Each tournament is designed by the Federation according to the specific situation. There is no standard required number of participants, pairs, groups, participants per group or divisions, nor a fixed draw structure.
  • For each division, the Federation sets the maximum number of pairs or participants – for example 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 24, 32 or another number, including a non-standard one, depending on the actual registrations.
  • Each division has its own format: groups followed by a knockout stage or straight knockout. Divisions with different formats may exist in the same tournament.
  • For groups, the Federation sets the number of groups, the number of participants in each group, the allocation, how many qualify from each group and the structure of the knockout stage.
  • The number of courts at the sports venue does not automatically limit the number of participants or divisions; it is used only for scheduling matches.

11.3Validation and closing#

  • A competition is closed only after the final check carried out by the chief referee or the appointed administrator.
  • Before closing, the following are checked: the results of all matches, the groups, the draws, the final standings, the points awarded and the updating of the national rankings.
  • Incorrectly entered results may be corrected only by authorised persons. The correction updates the points and rankings, and the history of changes is preserved: it shows who entered or changed a result, entered external points, validated, closed or reopened a competition, and when.

11.4Clubs#

  • Sports clubs have a presentation and hosting role. They appear on the platform to identify and promote the sports venues that host the tournaments organised by the Federation.
  • Clubs may: host competitions, request the licensing of competitions, submit information, photos and materials, benefit from promotion and appear in the list of member clubs.
  • Clubs have no administrative access: they cannot create, modify, administer or remove tournaments and cannot manage users, results or rankings.
  • An event may have one or more host clubs, including when several clubs pool their facilities for a larger competition.
  • Club pages are entered and updated exclusively by the Federation’s administrators, based on the information sent by the clubs.

11.5Club community#

  • When signing up, or later from your profile, you freely choose your community: a member club of the Padel Moldova Tour circuit, “No community” or “Padel Federation”.
  • The list of clubs you can choose from is administered exclusively by the Federation.
  • The choice is voluntary and does not affect profile approval, licence validity, the right to take part in tournaments, points or ranking positions.
  • You can change your community at any time, without losing your sporting history, results or points.
  • Belonging to a club’s community serves identification and sporting association purposes; it does not give the club administrative rights.
